Visiting Artist
My name is Deci Ruiz and I own and operate The Potter's Wheel in Hampton, NJ. In conjunction with my school, I have become a sought-after Visiting Artist, providing interactive demonstrations with students of all ages for the past 5 years.
Through my carefully planned instruction, I provide a short history of pottery and demonstrations on the wheel as a supplement to Art, English and History classes. Each student is encouraged to try out the wheel (under supervision) and given instruction while the class continues to watch. This reinforces the lesson of "how to throw clay and start to make pottery".
The cost for a single day of demonstrations is $350
